I started using just the app when it first came out and purchased a year's subscription and loved it. Towards the end of the subscription the Nova was under development. I was excited to try the Nova. It comes in a nice sleek box and packaged well with Laminate on the outer box. The postman has got something good for me. I unpack and find a bag for the Nova, a USB C cable, manual with QR code and was told to scan to activate my Nova. A quick log in and update the Nova to the newest software which took seconds the eye mask was ready to use and already fully charged. There is an introduction to the Nova which you are guided into using the device. There is even a guest mode for people who want to try it. For me, when I used just the app on my phone, I didn't like nodding off with my phone in my hand. That's where the Nova comes in. Consider it a sleep mask but with flashing, flickering lights that when your eyes are closed, creates visuals like tunnels, colours and even emotions due to the music. There's many sessions, although I would like more. My favourites are the Mind Games by John Lennon and especially the explore your mind sessions. If I don't feel sleepy after a session then the drift off or befriend sleep and others in the sleep range are just perfect. Some sessions are about 10 minutes with the longest about 20-30 minutes. I have used it daily since purchasing and I have not had to charge it once. There is a detachable eye cover which you can clean if you need to. To have the best experience, use headphones. If you don't own a pair you can just use the lights and have the phone on loud... you will still benefit. If you want to explore your mind, calm down those racing thoughts before bed, need some "me" time for reflection, use this. On my recent trip abroad, a fellow passenger saw it and wanted to try so I put it into guest mode and let him experience a short version with the relevant medical advice given by the app. My only wish was that earphones were somehow built into the Nova which I assume Team Laminate have already explored and found was not suitable for the Nova. BUY IT...or if you see me wearing mine, just tap me on the shoulder and ask if you can us it.

I was skeptical when I saw the Facebook ad, but definitely intrigued. I did the trial on my phone with the flashlight and really liked the concept, but balancing my phone was awkward. I decided to order and give it a shot. As soon as it arrived I popped it on. OMG so much brighter than my phone light. With my eye shut, I still felt like I needed to blink — I loved it. I have a wild imagination so I see all kinds of visuals and colors constantly in motion, pulsing and catching my focus. Let me rewind here. I am a lifetime insomniac, and my ADHD brain runs WILD at bedtime. I recently bought the Somnee sleep headband and it works fantastically, but I still find myself putting it on and doomscrolling on my phone. So adding some focused meditation that completely blocks my ability to access my phone would be perfect. The past week I’ve been wearing both at bedtime and doing a 20-minute session. I KNOCK out! Each night I wake up in a bed of electronics (sleep headband, Somnee, and my AirPods). But I’m rested with a proper night of sleep. I’m a sucker for a Facebook ad — this one got me, and it was worth every penny. I’m currently being targeted for the Woojer haptic mat. Anyone else have it? I’m thinking the combination of the three would be relaxation heaven.

Fantastic experience from the beginning. The relaxation it brings is off the charts. I use my Nova before bed and my sleep has never been so good. Every time is different, what I see, feel, the colours, shapes, images, never predictable and never the same but afterwards I'm always left with a sense of calm. I'm not a big stressy person and was suprised about how calm and relaxed it makes feel afterwards, it just shuts down my thinking completely and leaves me in a very quiet place. Love it.

    Waste of time and money. It might have some benefit to some people and I would have left 3 stars, but they made us pay return shipping.

    So here is one less star for each $10, hope that satisfies your greed.
